Company Profile

Our Goal to Create a Sustainable Corporate Group

Daiwa House Industry was founded in 1955 on the basis of a corporate philosophy of contributing to the “industrialization of construction.” The first product to be developed was the Pipe House. This was followed by the Midget House, among other new products, opening up the way to Japan's first prefabricated housing. Since then, the Company has expanded across a wide field of operations, including the construction of single-family houses, its core business, rental housing, condominiums, commercial facilities, and general business-use buildings. Daiwa House Industry has to date supplied more than 1.5 million residences (single-family houses, rental housing, and condominiums), over 36,000 commercial facilities, and 5,000-plus medical and nursing care facilities.

Today, as a group working to co-create value for individuals, communities and people's lifestyles, our goal is to build a value chain. We plan to incorporate upstream, middle, and downstream operations, including peripheral domains of existing businesses, into the group, and create Plus-2 and Plus-3 businesses.

In addition, we have adopted the phrase Asu Fukaketsuno (“indispensable for tomorrow”), which comprises the initial syllables of the Japanese words for our key words of safety/comfort, speed, welfare, the environment, health, information communication technology, and agriculture. We are using this as a compass to actively diversify our management.

Moreover, in countries and regions around the world, including the US and ASEAN countries, we have begun building an infrastructure that will facilitate business development aimed at contributing to local communities. This should give us a strong foothold for attaining stable and continuous growth in Japan and abroad.

The pioneer spirit we forged since the founding of our company has been, and always will be, a driving force. Backed by this spirit, we plan to further expand our operations through support to a wide range of clients and by providing product development and services that will satisfy our customers. It is our goal to create a sustainable corporate group by pushing forward with the expansion that is always two steps ahead.

In closing, Daiwa House Industry has not forgotten the many people that are still living in temporary housing since the Great East Japan Earthquake. We plan to continue to carry out activities that will contribute to speeding up the reconstruction of the disaster-ridden areas.
