Greetings
Supporting the recovery of areas hit by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami while laying the groundwork for future business expansion
Daiwa House Industry was founded in 1955 on the basis of a corporate philosophy of contributing to the “industrialization of construction.” In the half-century since then, the Company has expanded across a wide field of operations, including the construction of single-family houses, rental housing, condominiums, commercial facilities, and general business-use buildings.
In recent years, we have developed and marketed next-generation “smart houses” in Japan, while overseas we have undertaken numerous real estate development projects. These efforts are part of our goal of expanding the annual sales of the Daiwa House Group to ¥10 trillion by 2055, when we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Company’s founding. As a group working to co-create value for individuals, communities, and people’s lifestyles, we are putting our full efforts into expanding our business operations to meet user needs not only in Japan but also in the global market. We have taken the phrase “Asu Fukaketsuno” (indispensable for tomorrow) as a compass to guide us. This phrase comprises the initial syllables of the Japanese words for safety/comfort, speed, welfare, the environment, health, information-communication technology, and agriculture. In line with this, we have recently entered new business fields such as environmental energy, robotics, and agriculture.
Under our management vision of “Connecting Hearts,” and we Daiwa House, as the leading company in Japan’s housing industry, responded to the earthquake and tsunami that hit eastern Japan on March 11, 2011 by proactively giving support to the devastated region. This included the construction of emergency temporary housing.
From here onward, too, the Daiwa House Group will put its full efforts into assisting in the recovery and rebuilding of the disaster-hit areas. We will continue to ensure that the Company fulfills its primary mission as a house builder – to provide members of society with the safe and comfortable housing they need.
In pursuit of our targets under the Group’s Third Medium-Term Management Plan, which commenced on April 1, 2011 and runs until March 31, 2014, we are taking steps to strengthen existing business operations while further expanding our total sphere of operations by developing and launching the products and services that today’s world needs. We, Daiwa House Industry, together with all other corporate members of the Daiwa House Group, ask for your continued support and cooperation in our future endeavors.
