Reaction wall, reaction floor

We'd like to introduce our equipment for pursuing building performance.

Reaction wall, reaction floor

  • Dimension of reaction floor:
    11m (width) ×15m (length) ×1.4m (thickness)
  • Dimension of reaction wall:
    11m (width) ×8.5m (length) ×1.5m (thickness: partially 2.5m)
  • Strength of reaction wall:
Bending strength 2000 ton・m (entire wall)

This large experimental equipment is aimed at evaluating structural strength, rigidity, and toughness by installing a whole building frame or test piece of partially combined member, and applying force by a hydraulic jack. Normally in the experiment, an actual building frame is built on the reaction floor and pressed by a hydraulic jack from the reaction wall. For that purpose, rigid floor and wall are essential. Both the wall and floor are made of thick reinforced concrete and supported by high-strength reinforcing steels called PC reinforced rods.
