Anechoic room
This experimental equipment is aimed at measuring acoustic directional characteristics of sound source and sound level in order to examine measures against daily life noise. In this room, to eliminate sound reflection from the whole area of ceiling, wall, and floor, thick wedge-shaped molded glass wool is laminated to the whole area of indoor lateral wall. We also use this space to conduct experiment for evaluation of human sense to various sounds.
Reverberation room
This experimental equipment is aimed at measuring sound insulation performance of wall and floor of the building. This room is made of reinforced concrete with high sound insulation performance. The plane is in the shape of scalene pentagon, and the room has 2 stories above ground and 1 underground. A real-size test piece, a wall or floor, is installed in the boundary surface between 2 rooms to measure how much the sound carries through the test piece and also to measure how audible the impact sound of hitting the floor is in the basement room. From the result, sound insulation performance of the wall, floor, and ceiling can be evaluated.
