Timber-Gate Type Frame
This frame achieves wide opening even with narrow frontage with maintaining strong resistance to earthquake.
- Development Background and Purpose
- In urban area, techniques for narrow frontage and techniques to expand interspatial freedom in the limited space are required.
Along with adopting quasi rigid frame structure that couldn't be achieved by conventional wooden framework residence, the technique to enable wider opening has been demanded.
- Contents of Development and Results
- Achieve wide opening even with narrow frontage
- Because the frontage of the residence is narrow in urban area, shaking of earthquake is concerned. However, to set up a garage, a wide opening is required. "Timber-Gate Type Frame" achieves a wide opening with the narrow frontage is narrow. Moreover, enhancing strength of the joint improves safety of the housing during earthquake.
-
Request
Set up a garage on the 1st floor even though the frontage is narrow in urban area.
-
Conventional Construction Method
The building is largely deformed or twisted when earthquake occurs because of insufficient bearing wall of the 1st floor and low joint strength.
-
Timber-Gate Type Frame
"Timber-Gate Type Frame" enhances joint of beams and columns, and solves insufficient strength of the 1st floor. It achieves a wide opening and exerts strong earthquake resistance.
