Looking at Parent-Child Relationships as Housemates, Next Door Neighbors, Nearby Neighbors and Faraway Neighbors

Daiwa House is also a pioneer in two-family homes. We began selling the "Super Midget House" in 1960, which was the industry's first duplex with running water. In recent years it is common to hear people say they want to live near their parents, but there has been no real standard to determine how close a good distance is. We conducted questionnaires and door-to-door surveys with people (grouped by housemates, next door neighbors, nearby neighbors or faraway neighbors) about their thoughts and actions including volume and quality of communication, and made it a part of our company's expertise regarding the distance parents and children live from each other and their residences in the future.
